Garmin 205 & 305 GPS watch for running and cycling

The Garmin Forerunner wristwatches provide you with information during running, it allows you to analyse your running achievement and assist you in planning your training. The Forerunner 305 has a heart rate sensor and displays and stores the heart rate frequency and comes with the Garmin training centre software for your computer. The Forerunner 305 can also be used for cycling, you can attach it to the steer of your bike and a cadence sensor can be attached to your bike, also this information is stored it in the watch and is easily transferred to your computer. The Garmin Forerunner contains specific menu’s for running and cycling but also other sports can be added for example cross country skiing

  • Information during the training
    During the sport activities different information such as: lap time; pace can be displayed. The information to be displayed can contain a maximum of 4 different date field and can be customised different sports.
  • Planning your training
    There are different methods to plan your training, the use of alerts, on interval, distance speed, heart rate, you can include a virtual partner and geographical course can be entered. Most items can be entered on the watch but the virtual partner and geographical course can also be entered on the enclosed computer program and transferred to your computer.
  • Analyses of your running/cycling achievements
    The enclosed Garmin program for analyse ( ) automatically transferees the data form the wrist watch and displays is on screen. The different data fields can be easily analysed.

Conclusions

The Garmin Forerunner 305 is practical aid, not only during but also after running. The wrist watch is very comfortable to wear and for my feels like any other watch. The interface of the wrist watch is very intuitive. The computer program is very easy to use.

Next to standard Garmin software there are other software packages on the market that allow planning your training and analysing your performance.
